Had a great time at the 2024 guides hunt. 4 hours of hunting, 90 minutes of cleaning, followed by the best prime rib I’ve ever had! Throw in time spent with good folks, and it’s pretty hard to beat.

We recently installed a water heater in our kennel building. Hot water for washing pans and giving puppies baths is awesome!

Julie got new logos for her pick-up! Our original logo is on the side window, and the newer one is on the back. Our son, Nathan, designed the new logo. Thanks Nathan!
Colt was Smokin’ Hot in 2020!
The last two weeks of the 2020 duck season were absolutely lights out in the Ortonville, MN area, and Colt was on his game! He was steady in the blind, spotted the ducks for his owner, Mike C from Pine River, MN, and made a ton of retrieves. Colt is a two-year old Pistol x Ice pup. Nice work guys!
Meet Rip
Rip is a Pistol x Ice pup that will be our next stud dog when he earns his titles and gets his health clearances. Just like his namesake from Yellowstone, when he’s working he really lets er’ Rip!!

Roux Earns HRC Title!
NPR Train's Midnight Express, "Roux", passed both the Saturday and Sunday Started tests at the Dakota Hunting Retriever Club Tests held by Henry, SD on July 28th and 29th. Roux stepped on every mark and is now has his HRC Started Hunting Retriever title!
Roux Passes Two HRC Tests
NPR Train's Midnight Express, "Roux", passed two HRC Started Hunting Retriever tests at the Prairie Lakes HRC test held at Viking Valley Hunt Club by Ashby, MN. Roux stepped on seven of the eight birds he retrieved, and had just a short hunt on the eighth! Roux is a Train x Grace pup.

Nikki Earns HRC Hunting Retriever Title!
On Saturday, June 2nd, NPR Grady's Nik of Time passed the Seasoned Test at the 2nd Annual Arrowhead HRC hunt test held at the Ben Nieimi Memorial Training Grounds in Mt. Iron, MN. She picked up both the land double and the water double cleanly, and lined both blinds. This pass gave her the 40 championship points needed for her HRC Hunting Retriever Title. This was Nikki's 7th straight HRC hunt test pass. She will now start training to run HRC Finished tests and AKC Senior tests.

Trey is a 22 month old chocolate female who is a grand daughter to our stud dog, HRCH Train MH. She has been through our Started Training Program, and has a season of guiding pheasant hunts at a Sough Dakota lodge. To see more info. and pics go to our Started Dogs page.
