He is extremely focused on what we want him to do, and once a bird goes down he’s totally focused on getting to it and bringing it back as fast as he can! Pete has been trained for both waterfowl and upland hunting. He has four seasons of guiding pheasant hunts under his belt at Paul Nelson Farm by Gettysburg, SD. As you would expect with his pedigree, he will point in the upland field. In the summer of 2024 Pete passed five HRC Seasoned Tests to earn his Hunting Retriever title! We look for him to earn his HRCH title in 2025 as he will be moving up to Finished Tests next summer.

He has three years of experience hunting pheasants as a guide dog at Paul Nelson Farm out of Gettysburg, SD. In the summer of 2022 he earned his HRC Started Hunting Retriever title. Rowdy passed five HRC Seasoned tests in the summer of 2024 to earn his HRC Hunting Retriever Title. He will be moving up to Finished Tests in 2025, looking to earn his HRCH title.

Train has thrown point in previous litters he has sired. In the summer of 2015 Train passes eight HRC Finished tests, earning him enough points for membership in the prestigious HRC 500 Point Club!!

Pistol is an intense retriever who has a strong desire to please. When he's in the field he is wired, but focused on whatever you want him to do. As my son, Nathan, commented after a recent hunt, "Pistol is so loyal he would run through a brick wall to make a retrieve for you!" After the hunt he is content to sit and get loved on for as long as he can milk it, he would probably be a house dog if we had room for one more. Pistol points, and has thrown point in his previous litters.

He inherited his sire’s marking ability and intelligence and his dam’s attitude and willingness to work with you. Roux has spent six seasons guiding pheasant hunts at Paul Nelson Farm by Gettysburg, SD. He earned his HRC Hunting Retriever title in the summer of 2019, passing three straight Seasoned tests. Roux Passed four straight Finished tests in the summer of 2020 to earn his HRC Hunting Retriever Champion title! He also passed his first AKC Senior test. In the summer of 2021 Roux passed two more AKC Senior tests and five HRC Finished tests before heading back out to SD to guide pheasant hunts! In 2022 he passed two AKC Senior tests to earn his AKC Senior Hunter title! Roux also passed six more HRC Finished tests in 2022.
